What is Psychodynamic Counselling?

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on early life experiences and relationships and how these may
shape our feelings, behaviours and emotional health. Sometimes our unconscious feelings and thoughts may be impacting our lives, and this approach supports a deeper understanding of ourselves whilst developing greater insight into who we are as individuals.

 

Rather than focusing only on immediate problems or quick solutions, psychodynamic work
gently looks beneath the surface — helping you connect the dots between past and present. You can bring your whole self, be curious
about patterns, and move at your own pace.

What to expect in sessions

You will be encouraged to talk openly about whatever comes to mind — thoughts,
feelings, memories, or experiences. Together, we will explore the meaning behind these and
notice any recurring themes or emotional responses that might be shaping your life.
Throughout this process, you can develop greater self-awareness, compassion for yourself, and
a clearer understanding of your relationships and life choices.
